Qintess was responsible for implementing the Cell Phone Safety platform, an innovative solution based on IMEI blocking technology (International Mobile Equipment Identity), a unique code that identifies each mobile device. By using the IMEI as a security cornerstone, the platform renders stolen devices inoperable, eliminating their value to organized crime and enhancing citizen protection. It also offers the option of either fully blocking the device or enabling a recovery mode that keeps the IMEI active and guides the return of the device through automated messages.
Developed with a microservices architecture, secure API integrations, and agile methodologies such as Scrum@Scale and Design Thinking, the solution connects mobile carriers, financial institutions, and government agencies in real time, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with stringent cybersecurity standards. The project also incorporated sustainable technology practices, using artificial intelligence–based optimization to significantly reduce digital resource consumption, aligning digital transformation with ESG principles and Net Zero goals.
